SUMMARY:PROTEST THE HERO at Scala - Friday 31st July 2026 - 7:00 pm until 10:30 pm

DESCRIPTION:PROTEST THE HERO are a Canadian Progressive Metal band from Whitby\, Ontario. Originally named HAPPY GO LUCKY\, the band changed their name to PROTEST THE HERO and released their debut EP\, Search for the Truth\, in 2002. In 2005\, the band released their first album Kezia on Canadian Indie label Underground Operations.\n\nOn January 23\, 2006\, the band signed with Vagrant Records for Kezia's American release on April 4\, 2006. Their second album\, Fortress was released by Underground Operations in Canada and by Vagrant Records worldwide on January 29\, 2008. The band released their third studio album\, Scurrilous\, on March 22\, 2011.\n\nExpressing frustrations with record labels\, in January 2013 the band announced that they would crowdfund their fourth album. The Indiegogo campaign was a runaway success\, and the independently released Volition debuted on October 29\, 2013\, distributed with the help of Razor &amp\; Tie. In October 2015\, the band announced that their next release would take the form of an EP\, distributed via subscription service Bandcamp\, entitled Pacific Myth.\n\nThe band started the production process of their fifth studio album in January 2018. The process was delayed due to issues with vocalist Walker's voice\, which arose during the Fortress X Tour in June 2018. The album\, titled Palimpsest\, would release two years later on June 18\, 2020.\n\nOn June 6\, 2018\, the band announced that they were forced to cancel their upcoming summer tour in Europe and Japan\, and postpone the recording of their next studio album\, due to Rody Walker developing "vocal issues" that might develop into "irreparable damage" if not taken care of.\n\nA new single titled "The Canary" was released on April 16\, 2020\, on streaming sites. On the same day\, the album's title\, Palimpsest\, along with the track listing and its release date set for June 19 was announced. Along with the 10 tracks that are listed for most editions\, two bonus tracks called "Gift Horse" and "The Dueling Cavalier" exist that are included in a special vinyl bundle. The second single\, "From the Sky"\, was released on May 14\, 2020. The band modified the release date of the album from June 19 to June 18\, 2020\, in observance of Juneteenth\, and the album was released to pre-order subscribers a day earlier on June 17\, 2020.\n\nIn November 2021\, Luke Hoskin announced his retirement from touring\, although he remains a band member for songwriting and recording purposes. Ben Davis of The Kindred was announced as the band's new touring lead guitarist.

SUMMARY:Digable Planets at Scala - Wednesday 19th August 2026 - 7:30 pm until 10:15 pm

SUMMARY:Way Dynamic at Scala - Thursday 3rd September 2026 - 7:30 pm until 11:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Way Dynamic\, the solo project of Melbourne’s Dylan Young\, will soon release internationally Massive Shoe – a third album that’s playful and understated\, luminous and textured. Massive Shoe is minimalist folk-pop\, art rock and baroque pop\, produced and largely played by Young\, who moonlights in Melbourne’s beloved Cool Sounds and Good Morning and has played drums with Snowy Band and Kankawa Nagarra. It’s tempting to only compare these timeless songs to those of yesteryear\, but there’s a sensibility\, a turn of phrase\, that feels deeply contemporary: it’s telling that Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield described “Miffed It” as her “favourite song in a VERY long time”\, and Katie and MJ Lenderman have both taken Way Dynamic on tour. At the same time\, Sir Elton John said that he “just cannot stop listening” to “Ibiza”. Young’s songs don’t shy away from sentiment\, or equally from silliness: on any given song he might evoke a cruisy trip through hell or earnestly lament a miscommunication. Whether the journey is to space or along the Seine\, we’re very much along for the ride.

SUMMARY:Martha at Scala - Friday 11th September 2026 - 6:30 pm until 10:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:This September we (the band called Martha) will be doing a handful of shows to mark ten years since ‘Blisters in the Pit of my Heart’ came out. We’ll be performing the album in full each night\, plus a load of other songs too. The tour will take us to a couple of places we’ve never played before (Birkenhead and Hebden Bridge)\, a couple of places we haven’t played in ages (Edinburgh and Cardiff)\, and we’ll also be playing at the Scala in London for the first time in nearly a decade. If you can make it out to one of these gigs please do. Please also tell your friends about it. Especially the ones who used to be cool but don’t come to gigs anymore. We’ve got some really great bands opening for us too! The beautiful poster was designed by Soph McKenzie.

SUMMARY:Little Grandad at Scala - Wednesday 16th September 2026 - 7:30 pm until 11:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Formed in 2025\, Little Grandad's songs sound like a sort of Venn diagram of rust-belt Americana\, Brooklyn-informed slacker-rock\, and warm yet ramshackle British indie guitar rock. It also sounds nothing like those things. It’s chaotic\, teeters on the brink of collapse\, but somehow hangs together. It’s properly exciting because you can’t put your finger on what it is\, and neither can they.\n\nA mainstay on the live scene\, Little Grandad has fast become one of the most talked about new bands with a live show that’s equal parts chaos and chemistry.

SUMMARY:Casey at Scala - Tuesday 22nd September 2026 - 6:30 pm until 10:15 pm

DESCRIPTION:When Casey called it a day back in 2019\, it felt like a premature demise. Their two full-length albums – 2016’s Love Is Not Enough and 2018’s Where I Go When I Am Sleeping – had firmly established the Welsh five-piece as one of the most exciting bands in Britain’s alternative scene in just a few short years.\n\nSome four or so years later\, the band have returned\; not only to sold out crowds on their first reappearance on stage\, but also with new music in hand. ‘Great Grief’ was the first song to emerge from their resurrection\, a gorgeously gloomy track that sees the band expand on the layered soundscapes that underpinned the songs of their second album Where I Go When I Am Sleeping. It’s quintessential Casey – broken\, bruised and bloody\, but simultaneously shimmering with beautiful defiance. The latest single ‘Atone’ begins as a brutal blast of post-hardcore noise\, but soon transforms into an overwhelming swathe of dark calm\, a breath held as the world burns.\n\nOne listen to the new songs\, and it’s clear the band needn’t worry about the integrity of their fresh creative vision\, nor their emotional investment in it. Both songs are quintessential Casey\, open hearts dripping with the same kind of pain and trauma that defined the band from the start. Because Casey songs don’t just replicate the feelings that inspire them – they embody them. That hasn’t changed.\n\n'The UK shows of the tour are being brought to you in partnership with Rise Above Cancer\, and we’re proud to announce that £1 of each ticket sold will be donated to their work. They’ll also be making an appearance in Cardiff\, so you can learn more about what they do directly\, and learn about other ways you can support the cause.’ - Casey\n\n“We’re incredibly grateful to Casey for supporting Rise Above Cancer - not just to through their generosity\, but for giving us a platform to connect with people\, share what we do\, and have meaningful conversations with those affected by cancer.” - Rise Above Cancer

SUMMARY:Chxrry at Scala - Wednesday 23rd September 2026 - 7:00 pm until 10:15 pm

DESCRIPTION:Chxrry makes a lasting impression with her music. Beckoning you to sit shotgun in the passenger seat\, she’ll hit the gas and guide you through wild nights that stretch into hazy mornings\, the ups and downs of short-lived hookups\, and all the excitement of being a Gen-Z twenty-something with nothing to lose and all the time in the world. These wild rides are set to a soundtrack of smoked-out alternative R&amp\;B jet-fueled by pop appeal. Growing up\, Chxrry went from honing her voice as a kid in the Toronto neighborhood of Scarborough to kicking her career into high gear in Atlanta during 2017. Building buzz independently\, she attracted XO to her corner and became its “first female signing.” She dropped The Other Side EP [2022] and Siren EP [2023]—which included “Favorite Girl” [feat. Offset]. She shined as a dynamic performer on stage in stadiums across Australia and New Zealand with The Weeknd\, cementing her reputation as a global performer. She also supported Mariah The Scientist on tour\, with artists such as Rema and Destin Conrad bringing her out repeatedly in Toronto to represent. Kicking off 2026\, Chxrry expanded her international reach with European tour dates supporting Mariah The Scientist. During 2025\, she leveled up with her very own song of the summer “Main Character.” It surged as her most successful anthem to date\, piling up millions of streams\, powering social media videos by everyone from Chlöe Bailey to Angel Reese\, and garnering acclaim from i-D\, WONDERLAND Magazine\, Billboard\, and more. However\, it all just set the stage for her 2026 full-length debut album [XO/Republic Records] and much more to come. After stacking up over 100 million streams and inciting the applause of UPROXX\, Complex\, Entertainment Tonight\, Vibe\, and more\, the singer\, songwriter\, and phenomenon continues to leave a mark.

SUMMARY:HOLY FUCK at Scala - Thursday 24th September 2026 - 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:At a time when even entire classic rock bands are being AI generated\, Holy Fuck are now more relevant than ever. The Canadian quartet have forged their reputation for making electronic music with a human touch. While many artists create that core electronic sound via laptops\, loops and drum machines\, Holy Fuck keep every element as live as possible. The intoxication they inspire comes not from cold\, staid perfection\, but from the ragged energy that comes from four musicians relishing sharing a moment. Factor in the chaos born from improvisation and skipping a click track in favour of loose\, raw\, real percussion\, and it’s easy to see why Holy Fuck are renowned for their pulsating\, unorthodox thrills.\n\nAs the passage of time marches to its own relentless beat\, it’s almost frightening to note that it has been six years since their previous set\, 2020’s Deleter. Given the well-documented events that followed that year\, the normally road-weary band — Brian Borcherdt\, Graham Walsh\, Matt ‘Punchy’ McQuaid and Matt Schulz — spent two years entirely apart from each other.\n\nIn March 2022\, they finally reconvened in an old village hall in rural Nova Scotia. The main purpose was simply to reunite and rehearse\, but new song ideas soon flowed out of them. That became the starting point for their upcoming album Event Beat.\n\n“The catalyst for this record and the beginning of the recordings that we did was us just getting back together again\,” states Graham. “It was something unique to us. It was all of us living together in one space with no distractions\, just working on music in the middle of nowhere. It’s a way I really like to work. For at least half of the songs on the record\, it was just us holed up together\, which was great!”\n\nIntuition\, muscle memory\, an almost telepathic link — call it what you will\, but the shared synapses between the quartet were soon firing again. “Having our own language that we can speak so easily together is really important to us\,” asserts Brian. “We all have our own piece to bring to the conversation\, and it’s idiosyncratic to us because we’ve been dedicated to it for so long. Hopefully that’s encouraging to other bands who feel like they’re on a similar path.”\n\nNonetheless\, there were challenges. At one point a storm knocked out the power\, forcing them to start up a generator. More importantly was the presence of a local who objected to the volume of their sessions. You can talk long into the night about musical influences\, but nothing shapes the direction of a record quite like the practical obstacle of having to placate a neighbour.\n\n“That became a production challenge\,” notes Graham. “We still wanted to jam\, but while being as quiet as possible. Matt couldn’t hit the drums really loud\, so we made these more low-key ambient things. It was like\, how quiet can we be and still do what we do?”\n\nBrian concurs. “We were making these quite pastoral\, vibey soundscapes\, and I thought we were going to have an ambient record on our hands. I thought this was going to be almost like new age music or something.”\n\nHitting play on Event Beat reveals that Holy Fuck totally circumvented that idea\, as opening track ‘Evie’ swirls between pulsating bass\, punk-funk grooves and luminous synth flourishes to offer a hypnotic calling card for the rest of the album. It was an idea that dated back to 2016’s Congrats and was salvaged after Brian spent six years listening to its initial form on headphones until they could unlock what made it work. It also provides what he calls an “infinity loop” or a “streaming hack” for fans who play the album on repeat\, as the end of the final song\, the title track\, loops straight into the ‘Evie’ intro.\n\nAt the other extreme\, ‘Gold Flakes’ is a typical “Holy Fuck studio jam” driven by Matt McQuaid’s rolling bass. Its dreamy Krautrock march is given additional flair with a flurry of musique concrète-style sound collage elements that unveil more details with each repeated listen. Instigating movement more than provoking the mind is the swaggering ‘Czar’\, full of popping J Dilla–ish bass\, happy accidents and random chaos that is already proving a challenge as they plan future live shows. As Brian sighs\, “I’ll have to get really tight with my imperfections.”\n\n‘Elevate’ leans most heavily into those new age preconceptions\, but with Holy Fuck being Holy Fuck it soon detours into the unexpected\, layering fresh sonic elements at every turn. “I really like those epic techno songs like Orbital and Underworld\,” smiles Graham. “This was my attempt at something like that — just dancefloor euphoria.”\n\nThroughout the record\, the vocals drift through the ether like a conversation with an imaginary friend. There’s no overarching concept\, but Brian highlights a recurring motif of momentum “towards something that is beyond personal control\, either at the mercy of some bigger system or some unspoken will.” While Deleter leaned on guest vocals more than ever\, this time they’re conspicuous only by their absence. There was no grand strategy — just the realisation that the record excelled without them. Brian did\, however\, call on two members of his spacious semi-classical ambient project Quilting: Mairi Chaimbeul\, who contributed harp to the title track ‘Event Beat’\, and Sahara Jane Nasr\, who plays the South Asian violin-like instrument\, the sārangī.\n\nThe album also emerged in the wake of an unexpected Holy Fuck rediscovery after ‘Tom Tom’ featured in a key scene in Amazon Prime Video hit animated series Invincible. It’s now their most streamed track\, with twelve times the number of plays of its nearest competitor. Brian and Graham recall a discussion with their then-label\, who were somewhere between curious and indifferent about their choice of ‘Tom Tom’ as a lead single for Congrats. “There’s something validating when something happens years later for such a random reason that you wouldn’t have predicted\,” Brian reflects.\n\nThe unpredictable struck again when ‘Lost Cool’ resurfaced in the Academy Award–winning body horror The Substance. Graham took the opportunity to see it on the big screen. “I was in the big theatre watching it\, remembering back to listening to the demo I made of just the drum beat and synth bassline in my car\, cranked up while driving through Toronto — just thinking\, this is fun. It’s kind of cool to put it all into perspective and have that cycle happen.”\n\nBetween those spotlight moments and the vibrancy of Event Beat\, it’s clear that Holy Fuck are as relevant as ever. It can’t be attributed to any single factor. Perhaps it’s their conviction to keep going and stick to their guns regardless of music’s latest trends. Maybe it’s the pure compulsion to continue even after many early peers have drifted away. Or it could be their example to younger musicians that playing live\, off the floor\, can still be a creative thrill — as demonstrated by their incoming At Work video performance series.\n\n“What I hope people take away from it is an appreciation of the togetherness and humanity in the music\,” concludes Graham. “Music should be played and enjoyed together. When that raw punk sound comes off the stage\, you should just enjoy it and relish that experience. It’s wonderful and awesome.”

SUMMARY:The Tubs at Scala - Wednesday 30th September 2026 - 7:00 pm until 10:15 pm

DESCRIPTION:The Tubs' second album\, Cotton Crown\, sees the Celtic Jangle boyband venture into darker\, more personal territory while continuing to hone their highly addictive brand of songcraft. It’s a true level up album which sees the band expand their sonic palette to take in a kaleidoscopic range of influences: everything from soulful pub rock (Chain Reaction) to Husker Du aggression (One More Day) to melancholy sophisto-pop (Narcissist) gets a look in. As Pitchfork noted\, The Tubs see jangle as a ‘vast world of moods and muses’ and Cotton Crown sees them continuing to explore this world and creating a distinctly Tub-ular sound in the process.

SUMMARY:LSD and the Search for God at Scala - Wednesday 14th October 2026 - 7:00 pm until 10:15 pm

DESCRIPTION:LSD and the Search for God hit the Northern California coast in 2005\, seemingly from another place and time\, dosing San Francisco with hypnotic shows built on swirling guitars\, otherworldly drones\, fuzzed-out pop melodies\, and dreamy vocal harmonies.\n\nEarly shows and recordings drew comparisons to My Bloody Valentine\, Slowdive\, Yo La Tengo\, Spacemen 3\, and Sonic Youth\, helping the band quickly earn a reputation as a must-see act within the Northern California underground shoegaze and psych scene.\n\nTheir self-titled debut EP (Mind Expansion Records\, 2007\; Don Giovanni\, 2025) sold out before its official release date\, earned critical acclaim\, and continues to appear on lists of essential shoegaze releases.\n\nAll five songs cemented the band as key players in the late-2000s shoegaze revival. But the fourth track\, “Starting Over\,” emerged as a defining moment. It captures the genre’s essence with submerged vocal harmonies and a finely balanced guitar interplay that drifts between hushed intimacy and sweeping wall-of-sound swells. Striking a rare space between vulnerability and grandeur\, “Starting Over” has grown beyond a fan favorite into a modern shoegaze anthem — one that feels inseparable from the movement it helped shape.\n\nWith anticipation building around their cult-classic debut\, the band delivered a second EP that surpassed expectations\, expanded their sound\, and sharpened their vision. Heaven Is a Place (Space Age Recordings\, 2016\; Don Giovanni\, 2025) frequented many Best Of lists and\, according to It’s Psychedelic Baby Magazine\, is “…controlled pop that matters\, weaving their sound with fuzz\, reverb\, feedback and an eternal bliss that will melt you in place.”\n\nPop Matters calls it\, "a long-awaited sermon for the faithful and a blazing induction for new converts\," while Primal Music says it's "another astonishing collection of five psychedelic stories glistening with the same spaced out ingredients that blew my mind way back in 2007."\n\nSelected Press Quotes:\n\n"The San Franciscans’ washed-out guitarscapes and affectionate\, blanket-warm melodies resemble My Bloody Valentine jamming with Yo La Tengo."\n\n--The Big Takeover\n\n"It was a night of exceptional intrigue and quite literally\, an other-worldly performance. The set bended and warped through psychedelic bliss. Crazed and incensed punters at the front of the crowd dictated spaces to writhe themselves around in\, one chap took to taking his top off\, letting his spilling gut loose and continuing to throw his head towards the monitor\, just incase it was not loud enough."\n\n--Brighton's Finest\n\n"Heaven Is a Place is a long-awaited sermon for the faithful\, and a blazing induction for new converts."\n\n--Pop Matters\, "10 Best Shoegaze and Dream Pop Albums of 2016"\n\n"Magical pop that could inspire one to take meds without a perscription."\n\n--Autopia Music\n\n"Dreamy indie-warp."\n\n--San Francisco Chronicle\, "Pop Beat"\n\n"Awesome indie psych/shoegaze. A poppier My Bloody Valentine or a more opiated Sonic Youth."\n\n--Robotic Empire (Richmond\, VA)\n\n"LSD and the Search for God are the rightful inheritors of the more coherent side of My Bloody Valentine and the more experimental\, noisy side of Luna."\n\n--Real Detroit Weekly\n\n"An absolute treat for lovers of all things shoegazey and dreamy. Superb."\n\n--Road Records. Dublin\, Ireland\n\n"Psychedelic shoegazers..."\n\n--SF Weekly\n\n"Beautiful guitar-based gems delightfully reminiscent of the early Creation Records sound."\n\n--Mind Expansion Records\n\n"This impressive debut EP sounds just as epic as their name."\n\n--The Deli Magazine\, "CD of the Month"\n\n"A full-on shoegazer assault of crazed guitar sounds coupled with ethereal male/female vocals. It's an excellent remedy for those who still miss Ride\, MBV\, Chapterhouse...."\n\n--Losing Today

SUMMARY:The Clockworks at Scala - Friday 16th October 2026 - 6:30 pm until 9:45 pm

DESCRIPTION:Look up. Look around you. What do you see? A row of commuters\, lost in their phones. People in pubs looking at small screens\, sat under bigger screens. We were sold the possibility of infinite connection\, but all it really did was pull us further apart. Because in the modern world\, there’s no more alluring temptress than technology and she’s rarely\, truly on your side.\n\nWhen Galway-born\, London-based alternative quartet The Clockworks wrapped up touring for their debut album\, 2023’s ‘Exit Strategy’\, they concluded a game-changing period of their lives that was buoyed by a greater sense of community than ever. That record had cemented the importance of their move to the capital. Not only had it led to them working with Bernard Butler on the album\, but it had also set off a domino chain of pinch-me events that saw them tick off support tours with some of their heroes. In 2022\, they were taken on the road in the US by Pixies\; last year\, they wrapped up a string of dates with Johnny Marr.\n\nThe latter was so enraptured by the band that he would wander around the venue corridors\, loudly singing their songs. “We were playing with these people who are the reason we play music. It makes you feel like you've realised something that you always wanted to do as a musician: forming bands\, making albums\, being able to shake the hands of people who’ve meant so much to you and tell them that\,” recalls Tom Freeman.\n\nIt was a monumental time for The Clockworks - completed by James McGregor\, Sean Connelly\, and Damian Greaney - but when they stepped back into the writing room\, they soon had the instinct to turn their focus elsewhere. The new material that swiftly began pouring out of McGregor was rooted in a very clear and distinct world that looked outside of their creative bubble and saw a society wrestling with an increasing isolation born from shiny new toys and bright lights.\n\nThe framework of ‘The Entertainment’ came intuitively and fast. “We had this really strong identity for the album from the start\,” explains McGregor\, “which meant that we could then spend so much time on the details. It’s like if you have all the beats of the film\, then you can tell the actors to go and improv between them.” The Clockworks are calling their second record not so much a concept album as - cleverly - “a work of friction”. “Friction is the best word because the whole album seems to be filled with push and pull\, black and white\,” continues Freeman. “There's such a conflict and contrast between everything. Even just recording the music\, we did it all separately and then put it back together.”\n\nIn stark contrast to their debut\, which had been laid down with Butler in a flurry of activity\, running on snap decisions with no time to look back\, ‘The Entertainment’ was produced by Sean Connelly\, recorded over a period of months and using almost meta techniques to mirror the jarring conceits inside. “We had the idea to record in a way that was in keeping with what the album is talking about\, and to try and do it in isolation completely. We wanted creatively to turn in and see what we could do without anyone looking at it\, as a trust fall exercise for the four of us\,” explains McGregor. Not only would the band eschew any outside voices\, they would also record their own parts in isolation. “So then when we did bring them all together\, the parts had all this tension to play with\,” the frontman says.\n\nWith Freeman and Connelly having massively upscaled their production abilities in the years since ‘Exit Strategy’\, the band began slowly chiselling away at the raft of ideas they’d accumulated\, carving out a sonic landscape for ‘The Entertainment’ built around tension and release\; moments of darkness juxtaposed with glimmers of light. A raft of cinematic inspirations were on the moodboard: Bladerunner\, Drive\, the works of Fellini. Setting the tone for a project steeped in “the sheen and slickness that slams against the ugliness and depravity of Hollywood”\, their influence was integral\, as evidenced by a trio of songs on the record - ‘La Dolce Vita’\, ‘The Magnificent Seven’ and ‘True Romance’ - named directly after films. When they were fine-tuning darkly anthemic recent single ‘Well Well Wellness’\, meanwhile\, they played the demo alongside clips from The Bear. “We knew we were on to a winner because the song was sounding how we thought the show looked and felt\, and that’s a show about life and being human\,” says Freeman.\n\nMusically\, meanwhile\, nothing was off limits for the quartet. “Our first album was pretty much four lads in a room making noise\, but this album has so much piano\, synths\, string arrangements\, found sounds\, weird noises…” McGregor explains. “We grew up with The Strokes and The Libertines\, but we have too much interest in other things to contain ourselves to that.”\n\nAsk The Clockworks to list a fraction of their listening habits and they’ll reel off everything from Little Simz to Ennio Morricone to Beach House and AG Cook. ‘The Entertainment’’s rattling opening track ‘How To Exist’\, McGregor explains\, was influenced by the energy of Simz and Kendrick Lamar. A manifesto of sorts\, it transports the listener to the beginning of a journey that slowly moves through headspaces and moods. The melancholy self-delusion of ‘Best Days’ details a relationship already doomed to fail\, while ‘La Dolce Vita’ begins with an opening image lifted directly from the 1960 Fellini film: “The floor is shaking and the walls are sticky / Someone said that Jesus took a chopper out the city”. “It sets up this idea of the death of religion\, the death of values and what’s coming in to replace that\,” McGregor suggests.\n\nBy the album’s midway point\, we’ve reached ‘The Magnificent Seven’\, a pulsing electronic highlight that sounds like Franz Ferdinand covering Sleaford Mods. Its titular concept is one of the record’s cleverest moments - a looping together of the old Western classic and the modern West with its billionaire corporations into one hellish whole. “I heard an economist mention The Magnificent Seven in reference to Apple and Microsoft and the big tech giants\,” McGregor explains. “In the film\, the cowboys are there to liberate the village\, so the irony of the Big Seven companies and their messiah complexes [felt apt].”\n\nThroughout\, the instrumentation and production hones in on this narrative. ‘How To Exist’ begins with “vocal production tricks and a thousand instruments that could never be played exactly like that by the four of us in a room”\; the final notes of ‘The Entertainment’’s title track were recorded live\, in one take\, with all the pops and background noise left in. “It’s not that we saw the light and in the end\, you know\, you just have to sit with the guitar!” McGregor notes with a laugh\, but there’s a tangible point about finding real human connection that sits just below the surface.\n\nOn the record’s artwork\, the band are seated in a cinema screen\, replicating an old LIFE Magazine cover featuring the first theatre to show 3D films. Back then\, the technology seemed fantastical\; now\, we can see people putting a blinker around their vision - the start of many to come. With their second\, The Clockworks are highlighting that duality but they’re also offering a tangible reason to support the alternative: a group of mates\, making music to get you off a screen and into the world. That\, after all\, is really entertainment.

SUMMARY:Lady Leshurr at Scala - Tuesday 27th October 2026 - 7:30 pm until 11:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Lady Leshurr is heading out on tour this autumn to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The\nQueen’s Speech series with dates all across the UK.\nMalesha O'Garro\, known as Lady Leshurr\, is a rapper and producer whose oft-confrontational rhymes are belied by a buoyant melodicism. The native of Birmingham\, England made her recorded debut in the early 2000s\, during her early teenage years\, with the first of numerous mixtapes -- her primary format -- and has since refined her witty and sometimes high-speed wordplay while drawing from U.K. garage and grime.\nAfter she fended off multiple labels that dangled offers with too many artistic compromises\, O'Garro reached a broader audience on her own in 2015\, when the one-take video for the fourth episode in her "Queen's Speech" series went viral with plays numbering in the tens of millions.\nFive "Queen's Speech" tracks were compiled in 2016\, the year she signed to major label.

SUMMARY:Adult DVD at Scala - Wednesday 28th October 2026 - 7:00 pm until 10:15 pm

DESCRIPTION:Adult DVD today announce their signing to legendary independent label Fat Possum. The Leeds based six-piece also today share new single Real Tree Lee which was premiered yesterday evening on Huw Stephens' BBC 6Music show. Real Tree Lee is a glimpse of what to expect from Adult DVD in 2026 - bold\, forward-thinking music from one of the UK's most hotly tipped new bands.\n\nThe band will soon embark on a UK tour with full dates below. Their 3-night residency at London's Shacklewell Arms sold out in quick time with their word-of-mouth reputation as a formidable live band rapidly gaining momentum. A relentless touring schedule in 2025 saw them entrance crowds across the country\, including at Glastonbury\, Green Man\, End Of The Road and more. In March they will head to the USA to perform at SXSW.\n\nOn 'Real Tree Lee' the band say -\n\n"Lee is a guy that we never want to become\, let’s make that clear! This tune goes out to all the blokes who keep it blokey and delve too far into the cretin side of the internet\, guys that believe every sub Reddit post they read\, dudes that base their entire lives around some bonkers right wing conspiracy and live in fear of 5G. When it comes to Lee\, what you see isn’t a what you get\, and what you get is much darker than you’d expect"\n\nWatch the video for Real Tree Lee (directed by Danny Blackburn\, Greg Lonsdale &amp\; Matthew Henderson-Newbury)\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8fd8_OeOaY\n\nFormed by vocalist Harry Hanson and synth-player Greg Lonsdale\, the project has quickly expanded to a full band with Danny Blackburn (guitar/synth)\, Jake Williams (synth)\, Jonathan Newell (drums)\, and George Manson (bass).\n\nThe band have received extensive early press support including being tipped by Rolling Stone UK as a 'Ones To Watch For 2026'\, plus they have been playlisted at BBC 6 Music and had support from BBC Radio 1 and more. Last year they also performed live at BBC’s 6 Music Festival.\n\nAdult DVD are on the precipice of something big...whether tapping into their love for chorus-centric indie or the influence of acid house floor fillers\, DJing\, or remixing their musical contemporaries their core appeal remains consistent: undeniable humour\, bold danceable instrumentals and instantly memorable songwriting.

SUMMARY:Boy Kill Boy at Scala - Thursday 29th October 2026 - 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Boy Kill Boy formed in 2004 and from there things moved pretty quickly. They were the first band ever to play at Wireless Festival\, played several dates on the NME New Bands tour\, opened the Radio 1 stage at the Reading and Leeds festival\, and toured with Hard-Fi. All of that and a couple of singles on Fierce Panda later\, the band signed to Vertigo Records (Universal Music).\n\nIt was a bit of a rollercoaster\, with a top thirty single (Back Again)\, a top twenty single (Suzie)\, tours with Echo &amp\; The Bunnymen and The Charlatans in the US\, another NME New Bands tour (as headliners this time)\, a session with Jo Whiley for the Radio 1 Live Lounge\, another appearance at Reading and Leeds festival and even an appearance on Top of The Pops.\n\nThe First album\, CIVILIAN\, recorded in Sawmills with legendary producer John Cornfield was released in May 2006\, reaching number 16 in the UK charts.\n\nAlbum two was recorded in LA with Dave Sardy (Oasis\, LCD Soundsystem\, and so many more bands). The band supported the release by touring extensively around the UK\, with festival appearances at both V and Camden Crawl\, gigged with The Kooks and The Enemy\, and performed live on Dermot O'Leary's Radio 2 show.\n\nIt was a bit of a whirlwind and the band called it a day in 2008. So they returned for 2 intimate shows in 2016 to say goodbye\, or so they thought…\n\nBut now twenty years after the release of CIVILIAN\, Boy Kill Boy will be coming Back (Again) to celebrate the album together once again. The band will play a headline show at Scala in Kings Cross on October 29th 2026.

SUMMARY:Josiah & The Bonnevilles at Scala - Thursday 5th November 2026 - 7:30 pm until 11:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Josiah Leming has paid his dues. As a teenager from East Tennessee\, his devotion to music led him to hit the road\, where he lived in his car and played for anyone who would listen. That took him all the way to a major record deal when he was only nineteen. When that ended\, he refused to give up and became an indie artist\, relying solely on the music and his undeniable gift for crafting relatable songs that led to a devoted fan base he calls the Bonnevilles. He appreciates them so much that he includes them in his artist name. “They’re the reason I’m able to make music\,” he says.\n\n2024 saw Josiah and the Bonnevilles reaching new heights\, completing a headlining tour of thirty-three sold-out dates followed by a slew of international stops that proved his global following. He has become known for raw emotion and a profound connection to his audience. This newfound attention has led to much anticipation for his new album — and As Is lives up to the expectations.

SUMMARY:Chloe Slater at Scala - Tuesday 10th November 2026 - 7:30 pm until 11:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Chloe Slater’s debut album ‘Riot Youth’ seems to unfold in the fleeting\, chaotic moments before doomsday – a coming of age record fit for the modern world. It arrives right on time in an era when hopelessness and nihilism run rife\, painting the truest portrait of what it is to be young\, British\, and brave enough to be hopeful today. Across 10 tracks\, Slater departs her signature\, succinct commentary on the issues plaguing her generation: social divide\, toxic internet culture\, our dwindling sense of community\, the climate crisis and\, ultimately\, the vampirish billionaire class cashing in on our collective misery.\n\nSlater began carving out her witty yet pointed take on protest music with her debut EP\, ‘You Can’t Put A Price On Fun’\, in 2024\, which was swiftly followed up with ‘Love Me Please’ the following year. Both projects showcase her undeniable skill as a lyricist\, introduce her as a promising new voice in indie rock\, and see her take hold of a torch lit by great British songwriters before her – those who have also woven gold from the bleak circumstances of their own generations. On ‘Riot Youth’\, Slater shifts from these frank descriptions of society to moments of gorgeous\, gut-punching poetry\, crafting anthemic choruses and intoxicating one-liners from the gripes many of us can barely muster the words for.\n\nIn doing so\, Slater has earned herself a devoted fanbase\, racking up almost 2 million likes on TikTok alone. Meanwhile\, she’s quickly making a name for herself as a live performer not to miss\, opening for Alessi Rose\, Role Model and Courtney Bartnett over the past two years\, as well as taking to the stage at Glastonbury and the prestigious BRITs Fringe showcase.\n\nBeyond soundtracking this peculiar moment of history\, Slater hopes ‘Riot Youth’ will shake us out of our tendency to seek constant distraction and instead prompt conversation. “We're upset about the way the world is\, but we feel like we can't change it\, so we go and listen to music\,” she says. “I just hope this is the kind of music that is comforting but not distracting. It’s addressing how people are feeling\, and it's saying that we can make a change.”\n\nChloe Slater has partnered with PLUS1 so that £1.20 gross from every ticket sold goes to Music Declares Emergency's NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET campaign and their work mobilizing the entire music community to turn up the volume on climate action and protect the future of our planet. https://www.musicdeclares.net/gb/about

SUMMARY:Temples at Scala - Thursday 12th November 2026 - 7:30 pm until 11:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Temples’ name has become synonymous with a band with an adventurous spirit\; constantly exploring new ideas. The British band formed in Kettering\, England consists of James Bagshaw (vocals/guitar)\, Thomas Walmsley (bass)\, Adam Smith (keyboards/guitar)\, and Rens Ottink (drums). On their fifth album\, BLISS\, they shake up the perception of the Kettering-formed four-piece with a record that ventures into electronic territory while staying true to their core DNA. Euphoric and melancholic melodies of late ‘90s dance music blend with psych-tinged riffs and loops to create something fresh.

SUMMARY:PIG DESTROYER at Scala - Friday 13th November 2026 - 6:30 pm until 9:45 pm

DESCRIPTION:Virginia extreme sound nihilists PIG DESTROYER deliver savage grindcore that is both intentionally confrontational and thoroughly pummeling. PIG DESTROYER formed in 1997\, when vocalist J.R. Hayes and AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED guitarist Scott Hull decided to unite in their efforts to create utterly destructive grindcore. The trio began rehearsing and immediately found that their common musical interests produced intelligent and incendiary music. This lineup meshed well and recorded their self-titled demo\, which met to a rousing response. PIG DESTROYER was growing in name and sound\, a CD entitled 'Explosions in Ward 6' was released. Great reaction to the 'Explosions in Ward 6' album established PIG DESTROYER as one of the best new grind acts to emerge worldwide in the last decade.\n\nRelapse signed the band and in 2001 PIG DESTROYER took listeners on a rampaging journey through an unsettling\, psychotic world with their album\, 'Prowler In The Yard.' Melding an insane musical attack with similarly jarring lyrical prose and an unmatched propensity to incite\, 'Prowler In The Yard' hit listeners like a coal-black monolith of nihilism. The record stunned music fans\, garnering lavishing praise\, and becoming one of the more talked about extreme music releases in recent history. Headlining performances at the 2002 New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and 2002 Relapse Records CMJ Showcase\, alongside a hi-profile set at the Relapse Records Contamination Festival in Philadelphia\, cemented PIG DESTROYER place among the new goliaths of heavy music.\n\nPIG DESTROYER then continued work on the follow-up to 'Prowler In The Yard.' In what would turn out to be an exhausting\, lengthy creative process\, the band assumed the ambitious goal of creating a multi-media monster (CD / Audio-DVD package) with their next release. Choosing to name the album 'Terrifyer\,' the album saw its release in the Fall of 2004\, embodying a frighteningly compelling mix of metal\, grind\, thrash and punk rock that seethes with intensity. PIG DESTROYER's vicious attack set out to envelop the listener in a cocoon of grisly nihilism. 'Terrifyer' featured 32 minutes of unrelenting sonic battery as well as the 37-minute Audio-DVD track "Natasha\," mixed in glorious 5.1 Surround Sound.\n\n2007 saw the release of Phantom Limb\, which received acclaim from critics and listeners worldwide\, cementing their legendary status. For the album\, the band drew inspiration from all that was around them and with it\, PIG DESTROYER boil metal down to its muscle\, sinew\, and bone - razor-sharp guitar\, percussive pummeling\, and a lone\, stark howl. Upon the album's release\, PIG DESTROYER embarked on their first Australia headlining tour with BLOOD DUSTER\, TERRORUST\, FUCK I'M DEAD along with a US tour featuring shows with CARCASS\, SUFFOCATION\, MISERY INDEX\, GENGHIS TRON and CAR BOMB. In 2009\, the band made festival appearances at Hellfest\, Maryland Deathfest\, CMJ Fest\, and Scion Rock Fest.\n\nIn 2012\, PIG DESTROYER released their brutal follow-up to Phantom Limb with new MISERY INDEX drummer\, Adam Jarvis. Book Burner is a return to a raw\, primitive sound and features 19 songs of their signature misanthropic grind.\n\nin 2013 PIG DESTROYER released an EP through bandcamp titled “Mass and Volume” as part of a charity effort\, with Adam Jarvis’s cousin John jarvis joining PIG DESTROYER as the band’s first bass player in late 2013.\n\nPIG DESTROYER:\n\nScott Hull: Guitar\n\nJ. R. Hayes: Vocals\n\nAdam Jarvis : Drums\n\nBlake Harrison: Samples / Noise\n\nJohn Jarvis: Bass Guitar

SUMMARY:DE STAAT at Scala - Sunday 15th November 2026 - 7:30 pm until 11:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:De Staat has built a reputation as one of Europe’s most inventive and fearless live acts. With six studio albums and numerous live shows under their belt\, the band has consistently pushed the boundaries of what a rock band can be. From the pounding rally cries of Witch Doctor to the razor-sharp commentary of KITTY KITTY\, De Staat has long explored themes of demagoguery and mass manipulation. De Staat has played - and in some cases headlined - major festivals including SXSW\, Glastonbury\, Lowlands\, Sziget\, Boomtown\, Rock for People\, Pukkelpop\, Rock Werchter and Deichbrand and toured with bands like The Rolling Stones\, Muse\, and Biffy Clyro. Their music - spanning industrial grooves\, heavy riffs\, experimental electronics\, and pop sensibility - has been featured in global campaigns and games\, winning Edison Awards\, 3FM Awards\, multiple music video awards\, a Bernays Lifetime Achievement Award and international critical acclaim.\n\nAfter two years of silence\, De Staat returns with a long-awaited\, seventh self-titled album\, art installation and live show\, marking nearly 25 years of pushing boundaries in the art rock landscape. Their latest creation taps into today’s dystopian anxieties like never before\, where power\, populism\, and control collide\, gradually erasing the line between reality and fiction. De Staat will tour across Europe and the UK in autumn 2026.

SUMMARY:Boko Yout at Scala - Monday 16th November 2026 - 7:30 pm until 11:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Boko Yout is the outsider infiltrating the mainstream. Led by Paul Adamah\, the Swedish band has carved out its own sonic universe — a fearless collision of punk-funk pulse\, raw alt-rock textures\, and off-kilter experimentalism. The result is music that feels like a riot and a ritual at once: visceral\, disruptive\, and spiritually charged.\n\nIn 2025\, Boko Yout released their acclaimed debut album\, GUSTO\, via the independent label Hoppdiggas Recordings — a bold concept work unfolding as therapy sessions with the fictional Dr. Gusto\, diving into questions of ego\, identity\, and artistic autonomy.\n\nRenowned for explosive live performances that blur the lines between concert\, catharsis\, and performance art\, Boko Yout have quickly become one of Europe’s most talked-about new acts — a project that feels less like a band and more like a universe in motion.\n\nUncompromising\, unpredictable\, and impossible to ignore.

SUMMARY:Widowspeak at Scala - Tuesday 17th November 2026 - 7:30 pm until 11:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Widowspeak are one of the most prolific and hardworking bands going\, bubbling just under the surface. Molly Hamilton and Robert Earl Thomas are the core of the group and its songwriters\, and they have honed their sound across sixteen years and an impressively consistent catalog. A lot has happened in that time: for them\, for everyone. One of many bands to crop up in a fertile New York City music scene\, they started out shuffling gear between venues now-since shuttered (Glasslands\, Cake Shop\, 285 Kent\, Death By Audio to name a few) and their practice space in Monster Island Basement (now a Trader Joe’s). The highs and lows of a long career mean chaotic stints as road dogs traipsing across North America\, fly-in gigs to São Paulo or Guadalajara\, wrapping seven-week European tours… And then down-time of years in between\, considering the power of slowly building a body of work. Widowspeak is now a married couple\, working day jobs in their own off-season. Robert is a carpenter\, Molly a waitress.

DESCRIPTION:OASIS SUPERNOVA: The Knebworth Experience\n\nAutumn 2026 – A Celebration of the Greatest Gig of the 90s\n\nFollowing the sell-out success of “The Maine Event” — the 30th Anniversary celebration of Oasis’ legendary Maine Road shows — Oasis Supernova now proudly present their most ambitious production yet:\n\n“The Knebworth Experience.”\n\nThis next chapter pays tribute to the monumental 1996 Knebworth concerts\, the defining moment of a generation — when over 250\,000 fans gathered to witness Oasis at the absolute peak of their powers. The show will immerse audiences in the sound\, spirit\, and scale of that historic weekend\, combining authentic live performance\, cinematic visuals\, and anthemic emotion that only Oasis can deliver.\n\nAll production elements from The Maine Event — the stunning stage design\, the string and brass sections\, the harmonica-led arrangements\, and the faithful recreation of the band’s live energy — will be carried forward and elevated for this performance. Expect a full-scale tribute to the Knebworth setlist\, intertwined with a feature segment from Oasis Supernova’s current live show\, showcasing how these songs continue to inspire new audiences today.\n\nThis is not just a concert — it’s a celebration of legacy\, nostalgia\, and the unbreakable connection between music and the people who believe in it.\n\nAs The Maine Event proved\, audiences are hungry for more.\n\nThe Knebworth Experience is that “more” — bigger\, bolder\, and built for every fan who still believes in rock ‘n’ roll dreams.

SUMMARY:Big Sleep at Scala - Friday 20th November 2026 - 6:30 pm until 10:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Big Sleep are a Dublin-based rock band making their name the old-fashioned way\; through tireless gigging and a shared passion for live performance. From underground tunnel shows beneath the M50 to sold-out European tours\, their journey is one of instinct\, connection\, and constant evolution. Formed by lead vocalist Rónán Connolly and Italian drummer Matteo Poli\, the band later solidified with bassist Aidan Gray and guitarist Naiara Clarke LaFuente\, who joined after a chance encounter involving an illegal rave\, a forest\, and a homemade stage. Their debut album ‘Holy Show’ is a conceptually rich and emotionally vulnerable collection that explores love\, loss\, and identity. In Ireland\, a “holy show” refers to a messy situation\, and each of the album’s ten tracks delves into its own emotional chaos.

SUMMARY:Ethan Regan at Scala - Friday 11th December 2026 - 6:00 pm until 9:45 pm

DESCRIPTION:Ethan Regan is just the troubadour Gen Z needs. He’s had a fair share of significant viral moments\, but he’s also an accomplished and energetic showman on stage\, giving performances I.R.L. that leave a lasting mark. As a songwriter\, he’s both intensely introspective and sharply self-aware\, espousing the importance of self-care with sensitivity. In this respect\, he makes timeless music with a modern mindset.\nBeyond playing instruments and singing\, this Charlotte native with a restless\, road-worn spirit personally grabs the reins and produces\, mixes\, and masters his own songs. He has tallied nearly 100 million streams\, received critical acclaim\, and captivated sold-out rooms as a proven headliner.\n\nCreatively\, he doesn’t follow a formula. You’re just as likely to encounter a breezy chord progression in one of his tunes as you are to hear a rowdy and boisterous horn section or big screen-size strings. Hitting the road\, he shined on bills with Sam Barber and Rainbow Kitten Surprise as well as Chelsea Cutler and Jeremy Zucker.\nEthan’s self-produced 2025 EP\, honey honey honey\, saw him gain further traction with “get by” and “spaceman.” In the EP’s wake\, he canvased the country\, headlining his “I Almost Graduated” Tour and releasing the likes of “fool” and “sweet hunger.”\nLooking forward\, his artistry remains an unapologetic and unfiltered reflection of who he is. You’ll feel like you know him a little better on a series of 2026 singles for Columbia Records and his forthcoming debut album\, “YOUNG REGAN.”

SUMMARY:Dave Hause & The Mermaid at Scala - Friday 15th January 2027 - 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Dave Hause’s songs have always been rooted in tangible reality—of emotion\, of environment\, of circumstance. Since releasing his debut album\, Resolutions\, in 2011\, the Philadelphia-born songwriter has poured his whole heart\, soul and life into his music. That’s no different on Drive It Like It’s Stolen\, his sixth full-length. Its 10 songs overflow with Hause’s trademark urgency and passion\, shimmering with a truth that reflects the harsh realities of life in this day and age\, as well the intermittent jolts of joy that punctuate it. After all\, his songs have always detailed his own personal traumas and triumphs within the setting of an unforgiving capitalist backdrop\, tethering those personal experiences to ineluctable external forces. 2013’s second album\, Devour\, for example\, was a response to his divorce from his first wife\, while 2019’s Kick saw him tackle hope\, depression\, global warming and a crumbling American democracy with the news that he was to become a father. Most recently\, on 2021’s Blood Harmony\, Hause wrote and sang about the positive impact of having twins\, and of the joy and excitement of being able to be at home with them for the first couple of years of the pandemic.

SUMMARY:Cat Clyde at Scala - Thursday 28th January 2027 - 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm

DESCRIPTION:Where is my love? Cat Clyde howls\, opening her new album ‘Mud Blood Bone’ with abandon. Can’t find my love? It’s not the somber lament of a longing woman\, but a feral eruption\, the roar of an animal on the edge. Her voice crumples with dismay\, a swampy croon over romping keys. I got a hole in my chest  / I can’t take the emptiness / Where is my love? It’s the essential question of ‘Mud Blood Bone\,’ a void eleven frenetic songs sizzle to fill.

SUMMARY:As Everything Unfolds at Scala - Friday 19th February 2027 - 6:00 pm until 9:45 pm

DESCRIPTION:Depth. An infinity loop of layers that unravel over time\, reserved for the most observant of eyes – for those who long to dig beneath the surface. In the case of Charlie Rolfe\, the importance of depth has come to define both the art that she creates – as frontwoman and lead vocalist of As Everything Unfolds – and recontextualise the art she holds dearest.
